If you wish to dig up, break, or remove any portion of a street or street right-of-way you must first obtain a street cut permit.  (Ord. 11-00 § 2, 2000; Ord. 5-93 § 1(part), 1993: Ord. 7-88 (part), 1988: Ord. 28-83 § 1(part), 1983: prior code § 34-18)

A SURETY BOND AND CERTIFICATE OF LIABILITY INSURANCE IS REQUIRED PRIOR TO ISSUANCE OF ANY STREET CUT PERMIT. 
IF WORK INVOLVES WATER OR SEWER A PLUMBING PERMIT IS REQUIRED FROM THE BUILDING DEPARTMENT.
A STREET CUT PERMIT IS REQUIRED IF THE WORK IS TO TAKE PLACE IN THE ALLEY.

  • All sewer and water permits being pulled that involve digging in the street or city right-of-way must be pulled by a City of Casper licensed Utility Contractor and licensed Utility Installer or have such included as a responsible party on the permit. Licensed Plumbers are allowed to pull these permits but must either be appropriately licensed themselves or sub all excavation work taking place in the City right-of-way or street to a qualified contractor. 

  • A five thousand dollar surety bond or an irrevocable letter of credit in the amount of five thousand dollars or a certified check or cash deposit in an amount equal to the estimated construction charges, whichever is greater, must be filed in the city engineer's office to guarantee the faithful performance.            
  • A Current certificate of insurance which provided coverage in the sum of two hundred fifty thousand dollars for each person and an aggregate sum of five hundred thousand dollars per occurrence, to protect the applicant against any expense, cost, damage and any liability of any kind in relation to the work being completed under the obtained street cut.
