In what may come as a surprise, managing garbage is an incredibly sophisticated operation. The solid waste division serves around 100,000 Wyoming residents including Casper, Natrona County, Douglas and Rawlins, typically receiving around 400 tons of municipal solid waste per day. In addition to a five-day trash collection route with 16 trucks and nine recycling depots, our solid waste division runs a 1,850 acre facility that meet or exceed all EPA and Wyoming DEQ standards for our landfill and special waste including hazardous material assessment and disposal, compost yard operations, sharps disposal, emergency spill response and environmental monitoring.
