The City of Casper operates on a fiscal year that begins on July 1 and ends on June 30 of the following year.

The City of Casper's budget must be approved by the City Council before the beginning of each fiscal year. This adopted budget controls the amount of money that can legally be spent during the approved time period.  It serves as a guiding financial document throughout the fiscal year.
