Solid Waste Facility opens tree branch express lane

No tree branch drop-off sites will be established

Casper, Wyoming (September 9, 2020) – Casper’s Solid Waste Facility has opened an express lane for tree branches felled by Tuesday’s winter storm.  “We will not have tree branch drop-off sites around Casper for this storm event,” explained Solid Waste Superintendent Sean Orszulak. “The express lane will allow citizens to take tree branches directly to our compost yard.”  The express lane will be available through September 30.

Orszulak also reported that residential extra collection during the month of October is devoted to tree branches only.  Each Casper residential customer receives two extra collections every month.  Tree branches left for extra collection must be in five feet lengths or less and cannot exceed a total of 50 pounds.  Small branches and twigs can be placed in 45 gallon or less trash cans or five gallon buckets.  “Whether a bundle of branches or a single branch, the length must be five feet or less and neither can weigh more than 50 pounds.  Please do not place small tree branches and twigs in trash bags,” explained Orszulak.
