The Risk Management Office is a division of the Support Services Department within the City of Casper. Risk Management is tasked with the prevention and control of losses that reduce city resources. These losses include employee injuries, injuries to the public, or damage to city or private property.

Risk Management works to prevent losses by developing effective policies and procedures, implementing comprehensive safety and wellness programs, and by providing resources and education to our employees so they can do their jobs safely and efficiently.

We control losses by purchasing property, liability, and other insurance that protects the City from catastrophic financial loss. The City of Casper is a member of the Wyoming Association of Risk Management (WARM). Through WARM, the City is able to pool the value of assets as well as risk exposure with other cities and counties throughout Wyoming to purchase insurance at competitive premiums.
